Chelsea are yet to raise their initial offer for Inter Milan youngster Cesare Casadei and the Italian side are hoping they do not.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport, who both cover the Blues interest in the midfielder today.
Corriere state that Chelsea made an initial €8m proposal for Casadei but have not yet presented an improvement on that initial bid.
Whether they will do remains to be seen but Tuttosport believe it is possible that they won’t after the announcement of a deal for AC Milan’s Carney Chukwuemeka yesterday.
The feeling is that could see them give up their hunt for Casadei, something both Inter Milan and the player’s other suitors, such as Sassuolo, would be very happy with.
Indeed, Inter would prefer to keep the player in Italy if they are to let him go and they could include a re-purchase clause in such a deal.
Tuttosport back this up, stating that Sassuolo and Torino would be happy to include such a clause and that would suit Inter.
In that scenario, they can monetise the sale this summer but still get Casadei back in future if he develops as expected. That would be far more difficult if they were to sell to Chelsea.
