Having missed out on Ruben Loftus-Cheek, whom he is a big fan of, Maurizio Sarri has turned his attention to a second Lazio player to try and bolster his Lazio squad.
That man is Callum Hudson-Odoi, who spent last season away from Stamford Bridge on loan at Bayer Leverkusen without ever impressing.
He has therefore returned to Chelsea, where he is now waiting to see what his future will be like, as interest in his services continues to grow in Rome, courtesy of Il Messaggero, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb.
The newspaper state that the Blues are ‘open to the loan with mandatory option to buy’, and the player would have said yes to the Serie A side already.
However, Lazio are facing a problem when it comes to the Chelsea player’s arrival should they agree a transfer, and that’s because they only have one non-EU slot left in their squad.
That is why they will have a choice to make between the Chelsea forward and Daichi Kamada, currently available on a free.
For now, Hudson-Odoi is Sarri’s ‘favourite’ between the two, which could push Lazio to favour the Englishman.
