Monday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo reports that Chelsea are ‘willing to offer’ €30m to sign Marc Cucurella.
It would be the biggest deal in Getafe’s history and represent a great piece of business. Getafe paid €6m to Barcelona for the player, having had him on loan previously.
Barca are thought to be due a percentage of any future move, with Mundo putting that figure at 10%, but it would still represent a good profit for Getafe.
The Catalan newspaper explains that Chelsea’s first target was Ben Chilwell at Leicester City. That’s no surprise given the Englishman has been repeatedly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
However, Leicester are difficult to work with when it comes to taking their better players, and Mundo state Chelsea are finding it hard to get their first option so have now moved on to Cucurella.
There’s no indication of whether the €30m will be enough, or what is happening right now with regards to transfer negotiations.
