On Thursday, we covered claims from France which stated Chelsea remain in the picture to sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona.

The attacker’s contract with the Blaugrana expires at the end of next month, and his future seems to change from one day to the next.

Chelsea have been linked for months, being brought in and out of the story, however, Friday’s edition of Sport explains their interest has now dropped.

The Catalan newspaper say Chelsea ‘walk away’ from the idea, because their priorities in the transfer market are elsewhere. That’s said to be in defence, with Thomas Tuchel needing additions given he’s losing players.

Antonio Rudiger is set to join Real Madrid as a free agent, with Andreas Christensen going to Barcelona on the same basis. The Camp Nou side are also sniffing around Marcos Alonso and César Azpilicueta.

As for Dembele, his future remains in serious doubt, with PSG also thought to have cooled their interest in the signing. Staying at Barcelona is still possible, although compromises would need to be made.
