Turin newspaper Tuttosport were always going to cover Chelsea’s sudden keenness to buy Sead Kolasinac before the window closes. On Monday evening, Germany’s SportBild reported that Antonio Conte is keen on the player, and Chelsea had therefore contacted Schalke.
Chelsea’s first approach has been turned down, with Schalke putting the word out that they want to keep Kolasinac until the end of his contract in June. That would obviously mean them getting no money, so a good enough bid now would surely stand a fair chance of success.
Tuttosport reckon Chelsea are in a ‘ultimate last minute blitz’ to try and sign Kolasinac, and that would beed a better offer forwarding than Juventus have managed.
The interest of Tuttosport in Kolasinac comes through Juventus interest, and it’s claimed the Turin club have been prepared to pay around €4m to get the player now.
If Chelsea offered something over €10m then they may get some joy, and it would still be a bargain. Kolasinac is 23 years of age, primarily a left back, and can also play in central defence.
Conte interest is no surprise and he’s not going to be too pleased if Juventus manage to secure a deal ahead of Chelsea.
