Joao Félix is travelling to London to undergo a medical with Chelsea ahead of a loan move until the end of the season.
That’s according to Cadena SER, who say the Portuguese forward travels to London this morning to pass his medical and sign the loan dal.
The loan move from Atlético Madrid will be made official ‘in the next few hours’, with the deal set to worth around €11m in total. Chelsea will pay Felix’s entire wages during the loan, but the Blues will not have an option to buy in the summer.
The move will allow Atlético to save around €20m during the player’s time away from the club and temporarily get rid of a player who has asked to leave following a falling out with manager Diego Simeone.
They will turn their attention, and their new funds, to finding a replacement for the rest of the season, with Borja Iglesias at the top of their list.
Chelsea, meanwhile, will gain the striker that Graham Potter’s side are crying out for, albeit on a temporary basis until the summer.
