Quite a surprise considering their lack of Champions League and Leicester’s automatic qualification for the elite European competition, N’Golo Kanté’s move to Chelsea has stuck a few question marks regarding the future of some midfielders already at the club.
With the eventual departure of Paul Pogba this summer, a replacement(s?) will need to be found, and the Serbian fits the bill of a strong and defensively capable midfielder.
The problem with the move currently seems to be Chelsea’s asking price of €25m, which Juventus aren’t quite prepared to pay.
Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday claim that Beppe Marotta, Juventus’ CEO, is looking to get those demands reduced in order to make the move feasible.
Of course, this could take quite some time, and with a lot of money possibly arriving in the Serie A champions’ bank account, things might change.
For now, however, it seems we are at an impasse, and we’ll be sure to update you if anything new comes out of this.
