Chelsea midfielder Obi Mikel is reportedly leaving the Blues to join a Chinese League club this month.
According to exclusive news from Tutto Mercato Web today, the player is signing a three-year contract with Tianjin Teda.
The midfielder has been linked with a move out of Chelsea for a while, with some rumours saying he was close on joining La Liga side Valencia.
But the Italian outlet seems pretty sure Mikel is going to Asia, where he’s set to have a salary of between eight and nine million Euros per season.
The Nigerian player hasn’t made any appearances for Chelsea since Antonio Conte’s arrival, meaning that a departure from the club was imminent.
Mikel joined Chelsea from FK Lyn in 2006 for £17m. In his 372 appearances for the Blues, he’s won many major titles, including one Champions League, two Premier Leagues, one Europa League and six domestic cups.
There’s been many claims over Mikel’s future, perhaps this one is true.
