Ajansspor report Fenerbahçe are very close to signing Chelsea’s Brazilian midfielder Oscar in the January transfer window.
Fenerbahçe beat Feyenoord at De Kuip on Thursday to end Dutch team’s 19-game unbeaten run at home, and qualify for the Europa League Knockout Stages. This had led to Fenerbahçe President Aziz Yildirim and his board members to recruit in the new year and bring in Oscar.
That’s the plan coming from Turkey, anyway. Whether Antonio Conte and Chelsea as happy to sanction it as Alansspor seem to think, may be another thing entirely.
Fenerbahçe manager Dick Advocaat said after the game against Feyenoord that: ”We could have done more in midfield. We should have done more. We are taking too many touches. Sometimes one touch is enough but our midfielders take 2-3-4 touches. That’s not good enough. We’ll work on it of course. And can we make something in the transfer window? Maybe yes but it’s all about economics.”
Ajansspor and other Turkish media outlets today report that Fenerbahçe are set to sign Oscar on loan from Chelsea.
According to the Turkish media the Fenerbahçe board are at advanced stages of negotiations and Turkish club sources state that they are expecting no problems to finish the deal.
Oscar has made just 9 appearances for Chelsea this season, scoring 2 goals.
