Even though there’s been great confidence from the Italian media regarding Napoli’s chase for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, we now see a setback being reported in the local press.
It’s outlet PianetAzzurro who comes up with an exclusive story to stay that this pursuit has just become ‘complicated’.
The report claims that the problem ‘would not be’ the bonuses that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis doesn’t want to pay Chelsea for the move. The issue is actually a financial agreement with the player.
PianetAzzurro writes that the Serie A side don’t want to grant Kepa control over his ‘image rights’. So with the Blues and the goalkeeper both ‘annoyed’ at waiting for the club to meet their demands, it’s ‘most likely the deal will be wrecked’.
That’s why Napoli are now said to be going for alternatives, such as Keylor Navas or Salvatore Sirigu. What had seemed to be a simple chase is now turning into a soap opera, just like has been happening with other players who’ve been on the verge of leaving Chelsea this summer, and players connected with Napoli too for that matter.
