Even if he has been restored as the starter at Stamford Bridge, there continues to be a feeling that Frank Lampard isn’t the biggest fan of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

He’s a bit obliged to play him, what with the club having paid €70m to buy him from Athletic Bilbao, but with the former midfielder showing promise at the helm, the club seem inclined to hand him the keys and give him what he wants.

That’s why it isn’t surprising to see Chelsea linked with a couple of goalkeepers here and there.

One of the first was Mike Maignan, currently contracted to Lille, and that interest hasn’t waned.

Le10 Sport in France are reporting Chelsea are alongside Tottenham in the chase for the 25-year-old, and are ‘attentively monitoring’ the situation.

However, neither have put an offer forward for the time being, as Lille ‘patiently wait’ for bids to come in, fully prepared to sell if one meets their demands.

That being said, Maignan isn’t the only man on the Chelsea staff’s wishlist, as the Blues also ‘like’ Alphonse Aréola, who will be returning to Paris Saint-Germain once his loan spell with Real Madrid comes to an end.

It’s explained by the same Le10 Sport the Ligue 1 champions will not be keeping him around either, and they are ‘looking to sell him’.

So far, no move has been made, and it appears Chelsea are simply keeping an eye on things on the other side of the Channel, perhaps ready to move if they feel the competition is getting too close.
