Atlético Madrid’s Yannick Carrasco has been linked with a move to Chelsea over the past few days.
Spanish newspaper AS reported Atletico want to offer him a new contract, with an increased release clause, with his current one standing at €40m, and that Chelsea are well aware of this, but that won’t stop them.
The Belgian winger was attending the launch of an official store of Atletico Madrid on Thursday, and was asked about his future at the La Liga club. The 23-year-old insists he has a contract until 2020, and wants to possible stay even further.
He quoted by Spanish newspaper Sport as saying “I have a contract until 2020 and will hopefully stay for longer.”
Carrasco also said he’s been received very well at the club, and is hoping for that to continue. He added: “I’m very, very pleased to come to the store and see these people who are here to support us.
“I have been received very well at the club , the fans sing my name and I hope it stays that way.”
It does seem the Belgian international is quite happy at Atletico at the moment, awhich would make a potential transfer pretty difficult for Chelsea.
