Talks between Chelsea and Antonio Rudiger have ‘resumed with a much better understanding’ as the Blues look to keep the German at Stamford Bridge.
That’s according to MARCA, who state that any side wanting to sign the defender need as much as €55m to do so.
The newspaper explains that after being offered £140,000 a week in August, talks over a new contract for Rudiger have been stuck in the mud.
That offer ‘displeased’ Rudiger as he realised he would still be outside the top ten earners at Stamford Bridge.
That led to a period of time that ‘kept Rudiger away’ from Stamford Bridge and saw the German international linked with clubs all over Europe.
However, talks between the player and Chelsea have now resumed, and there is a better understanding between the two parties.
The competition for his signature is ‘fierce’ as Manchester United, Juventus, PSG and Bayern Munich are all considering a potential move. Real Madrid are not on his list of options, but Rudiger is hoping that changes as he is ‘in contact’ with several of their players.
For a move to happen, they’ll need at least €55m as that is the amount, including salary and signing bonus, that Rudiger wants to renew his contract with Chelsea.
