Three days ago, TyC Sports journalist Gastón Edul reported Chelsea are in the picture to sign Alejandro Garnacho and he could leave Manchester United in the winter market.

Gastón Edul took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to state the Blues have made an offer for the forward. He adds the Manchester United player wants to continue in the Premier League.

TyC Sports, via their website, provide more details on Chelsea’s ongoing efforts to sign the 20-year-old. His future seems to be ‘further and further away’ from Manchester United for multiple reasons.

The Argentina international has averaged less than 44 minutes in the league under Ruben Amorim while it was close to 60 under Erik ten Hag. In addition to this, Manchester United have made him available in the market to help them raise funds.

These two factors have seen Garnacho attract interest from Napoli and Chelsea. The Serie A side made an initial offer of €45m, but it wasn’t close to Manchester United’s request of £70m [€83m].

The Manchester United man, for his part, is keen on staying in England and this gives the Blues a clear advantage over Napoli. The report adds Enzo Maresca’s side have made a ‘formal offer’ for the South American.

TyC Sports have no knowledge of the fee proposed by Chelsea, but state they would be getting closer to Manchester United’s £70m demand.

The west London club are ‘accelerating’ their efforts to try and close the deal for Garnacho in this window.
