Chelsea are making a new attempt for the signing of Gabriel Moscardo from Corinthians, according to reports from Brazil.
Goal Brasil writes that the Blues submitted a formal offer for the player. For now, the numbers are kept as a secret.
The story recalls that in the last transfer window, Chelsea were willing to spend up to €25m on Moscardo, including bonuses. Now the new offer is said to be even bigger.
A quick outcome isn’t expected, though. That’s because Corinthians are having presidential elections on the 25th of November, and are only expected to analyse the bid after that.
Since president Duilio Monteiro Alves is not running to continue in charge of the club, he doesn’t believe it’s right to decide about the player’s future, as another president will soon be in his place very soon.
Plus, there’s still a long way until the January transfer window, so there should be no hurry to approve the sale, even if they are considering accepting the bid from Chelsea.
Moscardo is just 18 and is fitting into Corinthians’ team this season. He has 21 appearances for their first team so far.
