It’s pretty interesting how the Portuguese media won’t stop saying that Chelsea are interested in signing Alex Telles from Porto.
This week, the French media has claimed that Paris Saint Germain are chasing the left-back, and recently got in touch with his agent.
That story never mentioned Chelsea, and still, the Blues are included in some articles in the Portuguese press today. This is the case of Jornal de Notícias.
The newspaper first covers those claims from France, then says the Stamford Bridge side are also in the race, as the club see him as a replacement for Marcos Alonso.
Alex Telles is protected by a release clause of €40m, but since his contract expires next year, Porto are only demanding €30m to let him go.
Still, PSG considers these figures to be ‘exaggerated’, so perhaps that’s a good sign for Chelsea.
Jornal de Notícias writes that when choosing a new agent, Telles was approached by Frederico Pastorello, who has huge influence over Italian clubs.
But he’s ended up choosing Pini Zahavi due to the representative’s work in England and France, and that could be a clear sign of what the player wants for his future.
