With Jorginho moving to Italy early in his career and choosing to play for the national team, it’s normal to see the local media being the one with most updates about the Chelsea player.
So it’s interesting that today, it’s Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte featuring a story regarding the midfielder’s situation at the Stamford Bridge.
The website says Jorginho currently has his future at Chelsea ‘undefined’.
That’s because despite initial talks with Marina Granovskaia for his contract renewal, the negotiations have stalled since the change of management at the club.
It’s claimed that the player’s agent had a ‘first meeting’ with Todd Boehly, but that was just for presentations, and despite the promise for new talks, there’s ‘no prediction’ for that to happen.
Globo Esporte claims Jorginho’s priority is ‘to continue’ at Chelsea, but points out that the player has also been drawing the interest from Italian clubs, even though there are only approaches and no offers for now.
Since his contract expires next summer, he’ll soon be able to sign a pre-contract to move as a free agent from January onwards if the Blues don’t do anything about it.
