Chelsea players David Luiz and Diego Costa have both spoken to the Brazilian media after the 1-0 win over West Brom last Sunday.

In interviews with ESPN, the stars celebrated the win which kept the London club on top of the Premier League table with 37 points. They’re now followed by Arsenal, who have 34.

Diego Costa, who’s the league’s top scorer with 12 goals, one more than Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, has commented on scoring the winner at Stamford Bridge again.

Asked about being the top scorer, he said: “Honestly, honestly, if I had to choose at the end of the season, what I would choose is to be champion”.

“What is worth most is the group. Of course, if I win the title and be top scorer in a competition like the Premier League, knowing that it is quite difficult, it would be something special. But my main objective, the really main one, is to be able to help the team and to win the championship,” the striker told ESPN Brasil.

David Luiz has confirmed that he was injured, but both him and Antonio Conte decided he should be in the game.

“I felt a little, it’s normal, I had the injury a few days ago,” the defender said. “I wanted to play, I talked to the manager, he also said that he wanted me to play, and it was good. I survived for one more.”

On his successful return to London, the David Luiz said: “I’m in a happy moment, happy to have come home, happy to be here. But as I told you, you have to keep working, because football is very dynamic, football changes from day to night.”

Chelsea are now travelling north to face Sunderland on Wednesday. Then they’re receiving Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge for the Boxing Day fixture.
