Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has reportedly rejected a move to Fiorentina.

According to Corriere dello Sport’s Thursday edition, the Italian side made a late move to sign the Spaniard in the last hours of the transfer window.

But the 29-year-old, who’s said to be ‘well protected’ by a salary of €8m per year at the Stamford Bridge, rejected the transfer.

Fabregas’ importance in Antonio Conte’s squad for the season is still unknown, since he played for only 12 minutes in the two first fixtures of the Premier League 2016/17.

He was also linked to moves to Real Madrid and AC Milan during the summer transfer window, but now it’s certain he remains at Chelsea, everyone needs to find a decent way of going forward.

Fabregas has already shown, when brought on as a substitute this season, that he’s got a lot to offer Chelsea, it’s Conte’s role to work that the best way.
