Signing for Chelsea after a relatively long saga, Pedro’s first season in the Premier League wasn’t quite as full of highlights as expected, but many are prepared to give him time to adapt.

Clearly struggling under José Mourinho but then picking up some form towards the end of the season, the Spanish winger left the Nou Camp for some game time, something he did manage to get at Stamford Bridge.

Time on the pitch, however, hasn’t extinguished his love for Barcelona, and the player, speaking to beIN Sports, relayed by Mundo Deportivo, says he would be open to a return to his former club in the future.

He said: “I know it’s difficult. I’ve spoken to the president when we saw each other during the cup final and I spoke with everyone I like over there. It’s complicated, but I’ve always said I wanted to finish my career at Barcelona.

“The years go by and Barcelona always has the best players. It’s a very demanding club and a return will be complicated, but I’m not excluding it.”

Not quite outright saying he definitely wants to return to Barcelona after just one year at Chelsea but it’s certainly an indicator that his old club is constantly at the back of his mind.

At 28-years-old, the Spanish winger definitely still has some time left before thinking about retirement, but is also running out of time if he wants to return there one day as we doubt they’ll want a 33-year-old Pedro in five years time.

Maybe he shouldn’t have left in the first place if he wants to finish his career there so badly?
