Wesley Fofana struggled with a knee injury in his debut season at Chelsea and this restricted him to only 17 league games.
The Blues also struggled last season, finishing 12th in the table and failed to qualify for Europe. The centre-back seems to want a way out of the west London club in the summer window.
According to Sport1, Bayern Munich were recently ‘offered’ an opportunity to sign the Chelsea star.
Thomas Tuchel, the Bavarian club’s manager, knows the player well as he was in charge at Chelsea when they signed the 22-year-old from Leicester City.
Although this seems like an advantage, the report says the German champions have ruled out his signing for several reasons.
It’s explained that the France international is valued at €70m and this figure is ‘clearly too expensive’ for the Bundesliga winners. In addition to this, they are close to securing the services of Napoli star Kim Min-jae.
Therefore, Sport1 say Fofana’s name is not even on the table at Bayern. If he’s keen to leave Chelsea, then his representatives would have to find another club in this window.
