Antonio Conte’s Chelsea further underlined their Premier League title credentials at the weekend with an excellent 3-1 victory away to Manchester City. A Gary Cahill own goal had allowed pep Guardiola’s side to take the lead, but such is the confidence of the Chelsea players in their system that they just kept going and fought their way back into the match.
One of Conte’s men has been picked in Gazzetta dello Sport’s European Team of the Week because of his efforts during the game. David Luiz was again a plus point for Chelsea at the back and fits the Conte system perfectly. A summer transfer which brought laughter from some has turned out to look like rather good business.
