Antonio Conte’s Chelsea continued their successful spell against Crystal Palace at the weekend, with Diego Costa scoring the only goal of the game.
Costa has been crucial to Chelsea getting themselves to the top of the Premier League table, and opening up a cushion, but this time around it wasn’t the Spanish international getting all the praise.
Gazzetta dello Sport have picked out Cesar Azpilicueta for their European Team of the Week. Also a Spanish international, Azpilicueta provided the assist for Costa’s goal and helped killed off Crystal Palace.
Azpilicueta has worked hard to fit into Conte’s tactics for Chelsea, as have the entire squad. The former Juventus and Italy manager has done extremely well to get the team to mould to his ways, after a terrible last league campaign.
Chelsea are now 7 points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League, whereas Alan Pardew’s Palace are just one point above the relegation zone.
