Chelsea youngster Kendry Páez has again found himself facing criticism in Ecuador after being spotted partying and vaping.
That’s according to Marca, who cover the youngster today and the latest incident in a growing list of concerning faux pas’ from the 17-year-old.
Páez currently plies his trade for Independiente in Ecuador but is set to move to Chelsea next summer after they wrapped up a deal for him last year.
The midfielder is highly rated and a potential star of the future, having already established himself as a key player for his club and broken through on the international stage despite his youth.
Big things are expected of him and that has led to an increased focus on everything he does, which, it transpires, is not always the smart thing.
They explain that the latest incident involving the Chelsea man involves a video of him vaping and in a ‘tremendous crazy party’. This is apparently something he shouldn’t be doing given his age, but also comes after he was seen drinking beer in the middle of a celebration after Independiente qualified for the Copa Libertadores.
He’s also been seen in several videos and live broadcasts on social media at social events, often in the late hours of the night. That’s led to criticism, particularly as he’s not been at his best for his club and even dropped from the team.
Sambonews TV Digital add a little more detail, explaining that the youngster posted images and videos from a salsa concert after a match in Quito.
The controversy is that he was seen vaping while singing with a group of friends, something which hasn’t gone down well on social media.
Marca firmly believe he needs to get his act together, stating the move to Chelsea could fall through due to his ‘wild and inappropriate behaviour’ off the pitch.
