Friday’s edition of Marca claim the youngster’s ‘renewal is delayed’, but the two parties are ‘sure they will continue to be linked and that there will be an agreement’ for a new deal. However, it will not take place before the end of this year.
Gavi’s current deal includes a €50m release clause, making him affordable to the west London club.
Marca say the ‘some of the most important’ teams like Chelsea have ‘taken an interest’ in the player in ‘recent weeks’, but he ‘turns a deaf ear’ towards the Premier League side and others.
Chelsea’s desire to sign Gavi is likely to result in a disappointment because of his desire is to continue at Barcelona.
