Chelsea have joined Manchester City and Juventus in chasing Peñarol starlet Facundo Pellistri.
This is according to Calciomercato.it, who state the 18-year-old has already been looked at by the Turin club’s scouts.
It’s claimed the Serie A winners will have to battle it out with the Premier League clubs for the winger.
Pellistri was born in Montevideo, but according to the website, he holds a Spanish passport, and this has seen him tempt several European clubs.
There have been claims from Spain about Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid’s interest, but Calciomercato.it explain most concrete signals are coming from England.
In the last few days, Frank Lampard’s side have shown ‘concrete interest’ in the teenager, and by doing so, the London club are colliding with the Citizens.
According to the report, City have kept ‘contacts alive’, most likely with the Uruguayan’s camp.
Chelsea are not only providing competition to Pep Guardiola’s side, but they also ‘threaten’ the Old Lady for the youngster’s signing.
Pellistri graduated from Peñarol’s academy before making his way into their first team last September.
Earlier this year, he was rewarded with a new contract and his current deal with the South American side is until 2022.
