The end of the year has been full of transfer stories in the Portuguese press. But although some of them seem really factual and new, others seem to be just trying to reawake old rumours.

Alex Telles is highlighted in an entire page of A Bola, as the newspaper claims that many ‘sharks’ are surrounding him for the next transfer markets.

The left-back has been doing pretty well for Porto this season, and the story says that his price is only going up with this recent form.

But although several clubs are said to be watching him lately, only two get a mention in the story: Chelsea and Juventus. And none of them because of recent moves.

Chelsea and Juve have both been linked to the player in the past, and the Blues have been watching Porto again recently. Earlier this month Celtic sent an official to Portugal and Telles was a good bet for the reason.

Telles’ wish to sign for Chelsea has never been a secret, as his agent has already told Sport Witness that he feels the move could happen one day.

Fernando Otto explained: “And I believe that maybe one day he will play for Chelsea. I don’t know if it’s going to be this season or the next. But I feel like one day he can play for Chelsea.”

But for now, the Portuguese press doesn’t seem to know much about contacts between clubs.
