According to a claim in the Turkish media, Chelsea are the latest club to join the race to sign Adana Demirspor goalkeeper Deniz Dönmezer.
The 16-year-old was also linked with a transfer to Arsenal during the last transfer window following claims the Gunners had made an offer for the youngster.
Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has today reported on the latest developments over the future of the highly-rated youngster, and he says Chelsea will travel to Turkey next month to get a lowdown on the player.
Sabuncuoglu claims Chelsea will be attendance for the game between Adana Demirspor and Eyüpspor on the 13th of April. The Turkish journalist reports the Premier League side will be joined by Dönmezer’s agent.
We covered reports from the Turkish press in January which stated Arsenal had tabled an offer in the region of €3m to sign Dönmezer, which was rejected by his club.
Arsenal proposed to send him back on loan to Adana Demirspor for the rest of the campaign, and also next season. Fenerbahce are also reportedly interested in signing the player.
He’s contracted to his club until June 2026 and has represented Turkey U16s.
