Barcelona’s pursuit of Chelsea winger Willian seems to be something that will never go away, with new attempts being reported in every transfer window.
This time the news comes from Brazil, where Yahoo’s Jorge Nicola says the Catalan side have recently made a bid for the player.
He says that in the past few days, Barça offered £20m to take the Brazilian from Chelsea. But the bid has been knocked back by the Blues.
Willian’s contract with the Stamford Bridge side expires at the end of the season, so by rejecting an offer now, they take the risk of losing him for free next summer.
Nicola says Chelsea are more focused on getting qualification for the Champions League, and they consider themselves to have bigger chances with Willian in the team. That’s why it’s worth saying no to that money now.
In 30 appearances for the Blues this season, Willian has five goals and five assists.
