Earlier today, it was the Italian media who broke the news when reporting that Chelsea are now confident in negotiations for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.
Gianluca Di Marzio said that the Blues now know the player is keen on moving to Stamford Bridge, and even though there’s no agreement with the La Liga side yet, there’s a feeling of optimism for the deal.
Well, now new reports from Italy bring more details on the negotiations. This time it’s Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longarini who comes up with an update.
He claims that Chelsea have been ‘running negotiations’ for his signing for over two weeks, and their intention is a swap deal plus an amount of cash.
Longarini claims that the Blues first tried to include fullback Emerson Palmieri in the deal, but that offer was turned down by Sevilla.
The La Liga side reportedly demand €50m for the sale, or a deal involving less money but with the inclusion of a player ‘they like’.
The talks are said to be ‘ongoing’ as both clubs continue to defend their interests.
