Paris Saint-Germain are looking to strengthen their midfield in the winter market and Idrissa Gueye of Everton is one of their key targets.

Earlier today, we covered a report from French newspaper L’Equipe, who claimed the Ligue 1 winners have submitted a €25m bid, but the Merseyside club are demanding between €30m and €35m to sanction the transfer.

There is a belief at Parc des Princes the Senegal international’s transfer could be closed in the next 24-48 hours.

L’Equipe reports the club had also been trying to sign Leandro Paredes, but Zenit are proving a problem. Chelsea have been repeatedly linked, and it’s reported they ‘remain ready to ambush and get the player themselves.

Maurizio Sarri has made it clear he’d like to bring in a midfielder before the winter market closes, and Paredes has been one of the strongest reported possibilities.

However, the French newspaper say Zenit will only start negotiations if a club offers €45m plus bonuses.
