Chelsea ‘ready to make significant’ effort to sign ‘fascinating’ player – Blues ‘crazy’, €50m enough to get deal done

Chelsea are interested in Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners, according to Tutto Atalanta.

The midfielder has ended up on the radar of top European clubs and the Blues are now added to this list.

In fact, the report states Chelsea are one of the clubs who are ‘crazy’ about the 26-year-old.

Taking the Netherlands international profile, qualities and form into account, he’s one of the ‘most fascinating’ players of the summer window, also because he’s being courted by several clubs.

Among these, Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus are the ones to have shown firm interest. His preference is to continue in Serie A, which gives the latter an edge. His asking price, which has increased to €60m, is a concern for the Old Lady.

That isn’t the case for the Premier League duo and it’s claimed Mauricio Pochettino’s side are ‘ready to make significant moves’ to try to sign Koopmeiners.

Tutto Atalanta state La Dea have set a €60m price tag on the Dutchman, but there’s belief a deal could be carried out for €50m in the summer window.

Chelsea and the Reds won’t have an issue to pay this fee, while Juventus would be able to sign Koopmeiners by including one or more players as part of the deal. If there are multiple offers, the Atalanta midfielder will then have to make a decision on his future.
