Elseid Hysaj ‘doesn’t know where he’ll play next season’ report Calciomercato on Tuesday.

The player has a contract with Napoli which lasts until June 2021, but his future is being called into doubt because of disagreements over a potential renewal.

The player is said to want to take his annual salary from €1.6m after tax to €3m and he wants the elimination of a €50m release clause.

Napoli consider all this a bit ‘excessive’, although they haven’t closed the door on talks.

The player is presented as being impatient, wanting everything concluding by December or early 2019. If that doesn’t happen he’ll start to look around for other options… and that’s where Chelsea come in.

Maurizio Sarri is described as the player’s ‘mentor’, and it’s claimed there was already an attempt last summer.

Chelsea are now ‘ready to return’ and ‘could go all the way’ for the signing.

Hysaj is 24 years of age, and a right footer who primarily plays as a right back but can also operate on the left.
