Chelsea were willing to put €100m on the table for Juventus star Federico Chiesa this summer in an attempt to convince the Italian’s to sell.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say Juve consider the Italian star as ‘untouchable’ in their squad.
The website explains that Chiesa has responded to recent efforts from Max Allegri to get the best out of him by scoring the winning goal against Spezia and ‘showing the best of his repertoire.’
Chiesa is considered the ‘real top player’ in this Juventus squad, and they believe he is the present and future for them.
But, after helping Italy to win the European Championship title in the summer, the player has become ‘very sought-after’ in the transfer market.
Indeed, Chelsea ‘were ready’ to put €100m ‘on the table’ for him this summer in an attempt to convince Juventus to sell their ‘jewel’.
Juventus dismissed it out of hand, and the temptation lasted less than the blink of an eye for them.
That’s not stopped Chelsea, though, who will ‘try a new assault’ in the next few months and compete with the likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool for his signature.
This doesn’t bother Juventus, who are willing to resist any temptation to sell, having put Chiesa ‘at the centre of the village’.
