Three days ago, UOL reported Chelsea officials had made a trip to Brazil to hold talks with Grêmio over signing their youngster Gabriel Mec.

It was also stated the Blues had agreed to offer €7m plus €7m in potential bonuses for the 16-year-old, while the Brazilian club had requested over €20m, with €10m of that as a fixed fee.

A fresh report from UOL says Chelsea have ‘reached an agreement’ with Grêmio to sign the attacking midfielder.

It’s pointed out that the Premier League side’s representatives were in Brazil last week. They have been negotiating over the past few weeks, and have finally decided to accept Grêmio’s terms to sign the Brazilian youngster.

UOL state the overall deal would cost Chelsea around €24m including bonuses, but there’s no mention of the fixed fee they are offering to Grêmio. He will be offered a five-year deal with an option to extend it for two more years.

It’s claimed the Chelsea officials in Brazil are preparing to carry out Mec’s medical tests so that they can get this deal over the line.

Mec won’t be able to arrive in the UK until he turns 18 years of age in April 2026.
