New reports from the Spanish media now talk about an ‘agreement’ between Chelsea and Barcelona for the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Outlet Relevo writes that the clubs are in ‘very advanced’ talks for the move, which could cost the Premier League club €22m plus €5m in bonuses.
It’s claimed that there’s ‘optimism’ the striker’s transfer to Chelsea could be closed ‘in the next few hours’, even though it’s not clear what are the final details being discussed at this stage.
The Blues’ hunt for Aubameyang has gained strength in recent days, with the club going for a centre-forward following the departures of Timo Werner to RB Leipzig and Romelu Lukaku to Inter.
The Gabonese player, who moved to the Camp Nou on a free transfer from Arsenal in January this year, has managed 13 goals and one assist in 24 appearances in his short time at the Catalan side.
Even though recent claims from the Spanish media had said that Chelsea could include Barcelona target Marcos Alonso in a deal for the striker, it now looks like the clubs are working on only one transfer at a time.
