Chelsea are again being named in the race for Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick.
The latest updates on the 16-year-old’s situation come from Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola. Following the youngster’s first appearances in the first team, it’s believed that European clubs are now actually going for his signing.
Rumours this week have been claiming Paris Saint Germain are heavily interested in the player, and according to this new report, the French side will soon be submitting a bid worth over €30m. Club chief Luis Campos was in São Paulo at the weekend and even had a conversation with Palmeiras boss Abel Ferreira.
The Ligue 1 side are obviously not alone in the race, as many European sides have been linked to Endrick in the past few months. That’s where Chelsea are brought in, as they’re called an ‘old interested’ side, with Bayern Munich also getting a mention.
Nicola says that besides PSG’s offers, bids from other clubs will come ‘very soon’, and the journalist claims to ‘predict the true auction’ for the signing will begin now.
Endrick has a €40m release clause in his first year of contract, so there’s no reason for Chelsea or any other club to offer more than that. The teenager has been showing huge potential and it should be no surprise to see him being sold for that much.
