Former Spanish striker Marcos Alonso Peña has given an interview to Italian website Tutto Mercato Web on Tuesday, mostly speaking about the Champions League and the way his former clubs Atletico Madrid and Barcelona have ahead.

The 57-year-old is also the father and agent of the Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso, so the website diddn’t miss the chance to speak about his son as well.

Alonso may have never been the center of attention during the transfer market, but had been linked to a couple of clubs during the end of the season, including Real Madrid, who thought the transfer was ‘impossible’.

And if it depends on the player’s will, he won’t be leaving Chelsea so soon. At least according to his father, who claims he’s really content at the London club.

“Marcos is very happy at Chelsea, he is playing really well and he is looking forward to getting on the pitch for his first Champions League match in his career.”

Signed from Fiorentina in a €23m deal last summer, Alonso didn’t need much time to adapt to English football, and already made 40 appearance for the Blues.
