The media closest to Real Madrid continue to be somewhat lukewarm on Eden Hazard.
The temperature of reporting goes up and down, but the general line seems to be that given the Chelsea player clearly wants a move to Madrid, and is obviously a very good footballer, it’s a track which is very much open.
Tuesday’s edition of Marca says Hazard is the ‘best placed’ player to join the Spanish club, largely because of his open desire to do so.
He’s been sending ‘positive signals’ to the club and has made a ‘confession of devotion’ to Zidane Zidane, which may be overplaying it somewhat.
However, he is still owned by Chelsea and it’s explained the Blues continue to try for a renewal. Given their current registration ban, the Premier League club are said to be hoping for a ‘kind gesture’ from their star player.
Marca don’t make it completely clear, but it sounds like they believe Chelsea want Hazard to follow what Antoine Griezmann did for Atletico Madrid, and stay at the club given no signings can be made.
But, the Spanish newspaper explains Hazard feels his time in England is over.
Barring a ‘radical turn in the development of events’, he’s looking for a transfer this summer and Madrid is the chosen club.
