Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri will return to the club this summer but won’t be staying for long as the plan is to move him on.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who say Juventus are keen to take the defender back to Italy.
The newspaper explains that Juventus are currently focusing on life post Paulo Dybala, with the Argentine set to depart on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Part of their plans is to freshen up their full-back department, but everything will depend on Alex Sandro, who is considering leaving this summer.
That’s not a foregone conclusion, but should he push for it, then Juventus will look for a replacement, and the ‘first name on the list’ is Emerson Palmieri.
The Chelsea defender is an old favourite at Continassa and has made a comeback while on loan with Lyon this season.
He remains contracted to Chelsea and is set to return to Stamford Bridge in the summer but it won’t be for long. According to the newspaper he ‘will return to London, but not to stay there’.
Juventus have already ‘sniffed out the opportunity’ and are ‘ready to pounce’ on the former Roma and Palermo man when he becomes available.
