Barcelona will focus on bolstering their attack in the winter market after managing 21 goals in 17 league matches and two in six in the Champions League this season.
Manchester United’s Edinson Cavani and Manchester City forward Ferran Torres, along with the Chelsea duo of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, have been identified as targets.
On December 1st, we relayed news from Spain that the Blues are ‘totally open’ to let the two attackers leave on loan, after holding ‘new contacts’ with the La Liga side.
Recent reports have pushed Cavani more heavily, though.
Sport say there is an agreement in principle between the former Paris Saint-Germain man and the Catalan club. Cavani’s arrival, however, will depend on United letting him leave with a ‘letter of freedom’.
The South American is not the only option handled by Xavi Hernández’s side. It’s claimed Barcelona have ‘sounded the transfers of several players’ and are ‘waiting to know the responses of the clubs’.
One of the options who has ‘welcomed the arrival’ at Barca is Werner. He has struggled for minutes, making only four appearances since the end of October. The German now ‘wants much more prominence’, which is why he is open to joining the Blaugrana.
Werner is ‘one of the options’ managed by Barcelona for January. A potential move to the Camp Nou for the 25-year-old is likely to depend on what United decide to do with Cavani.
