Davide Zappacosta has 12 more months left on his contract at Chelsea and earlier this week, the fullback admitted he has “no idea” where he will play next season.
The Blues allowed the right-back to spend the 2020/21 season on loan, where he was also used as a left wing-back. He finished the campaign with four goals and two assists in 25 league matches.
According to FcInterNews, the 28-year-old has been ‘proposed’ to Inter Milan.
The Italian’s ability to play as a wing-back or as a fullback, both on right and left, coupled with the money needed to complete the deal is ‘ideal’ for the Nerazzurri.
It’s claimed Roman ‘Abramovich’s request’ to sanction Zappacosta’s sale is around €7-8m, and the player would ask for an annual salary of €2-3m.
For now, the Serie A side have other priorities, but they have not discarded the ‘hypothesis’ of signing the Chelsea player and ‘nothing prevents’ Inter from returning to this case in the coming weeks.
If Inter decide not to make an approach for Zappacosta, he will have to then find a new destination, considering it’s unlikely for him to be included in Thomas Tuchel’s plans next season.
