Tiemoué Bakayoko’s exit from Chelsea, albeit on loan, to Milan is picking up pace by the day, with growing confidence it will get done sooner rather than later.

Corriere dello Sport provide their latest update on Wednesday, explaining the player is ‘preparing to become’ the club’s sixth purchase on this transfer market ahead of their return to the Champions League.

He’s ‘willing to reduce his salary’ to make the move happen, with all that agreed during a meeting on Tuesday, which was dubbed ‘positive’ by those reporting on it.

The Chelsea man is now ‘waiting for the go-ahead’ from the Blues to be able to travel and return to Milan.

Once the player arrives at the club, the next step for Milan will be to offload Tommaso Pobega, with it believed that Torino are in the front row to welcome him on loan.

Bakayoko would also help in the likely absence of Franck Kessié and Ismaël Bennacer when the pair head of to the Africa Cup of Nations early next year.

A smart move for all involved, and one Chelsea will hope will bring them money down the line.
