Zinedine Zidane is looking to bring in a midfielder who can be a backup for Casemiro at Real Madrid.
On the front page of today’s edition of AS, it’s stated the Frenchman wants a player ‘with muscle’ to strengthen the defensive midfield position.
Rennes teenage sensation Eduardo Camavinga, Chelsea star N’Golo Kanté and Lille’s Boubakary Soumaré are identified as three targets.
Within the report, it’s claimed Zidane has asked for a ‘natural replacement’ for the Brazil international as the likes of Federico Valverde and Toni Kroos aren’t suitable for that role.
Real Madrid are heavily linked with Paul Pogba and even if they end up signing the Manchester United star, Pogba will play alongside Casemiro.
Zidane likes Camavinga, while the Blues midfielder and Soumaré are also in the ‘orbit’ of the La Liga side.
Frank Lampard’s man is valued at €80m, while Camavinga and Soumaré’s asking price is set at €37.5m and €24.5m respectively.
AS only state Kanté is on the Spanish capital club’s radar and there’s nothing to suggest either Chelsea or the former Leicester City man are interested in the transfer.
