Asist Analiz’s Besiktas reporter Safak Malatya claims the Turkish side have been offered the chance to sign Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.
Malatya reports three agents are working hard to convince the Super Lig side to sign the Frenchman, and one of those is located in Turkey.
It’s claimed both Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi and the club’s manager Sergen Yalcin have yet to respond to this offer. The Black Eagles are in the market for a forward this summer and they’ve been continually linked with Everton’s Cenk Tosun in the past 12 months.
However, Malatya believes that given Besiktas’ financial situation it’s highly unlikely they can take a financial risk on Giroud, especially with the Covid-19 outbreak.
Giroud has made 15 appearances for Frank Lampard’s side this season, scoring four goals. Just before the pandemic the former Arsenal man started to get chances under the Chelsea boss, which has continued since the Premier League returned.
The 33 year old’s contract at Stamford Bridge will expire at the end of June 2021.
