With Chelsea being banned from making signings this summer, it felt like some players who hadn’t been used could end up having new chances this season.
But apparently, things haven’t worked well for Lucas Piazon, who’s reportedly once again leaving the Blues on a loan move.
Website Tutto Mercato Web writes that the player is on his way to Portugal, where he’s signing a two-year deal with Rio Ave.
Lucas Piazon’s current contract with Chelsea expires next summer, so in case the move is confirmed, it’s likely that he will renew his deal with the Blues.
Piazon has previously been loaned to Malaga, Vitesse, Eintracht Frankfurt, Fulham and Chievo Verona. Now he could play in a seventh different league, considering that he’s also featured in the Premier League and Championship.
Not long ago, the Brazilian media reported Besiktas had offered €5m to sign Piazon on a permanent deal. Perhaps the Turkish side gave up on the move, or the claims weren’t true, because that’s a transfer which would be far better for Chelsea.
