Tiémoué Bakayoko is currently in his third season on loan since he joined Chelsea in 2017.

Napoli took the midfielder on a loan deal last summer and he experienced a good start in the first half of the season.

Earlier this week, AreaNapoli reported the Blues owned player has lost his ‘serenity’ and is finding it hard ‘mentally’ at the Italian club. There’s been a ‘sharp and evident decline’ in his performances.

It was also stated this was down to the fact the Serie A side have decided against keeping the Frenchman beyond this campaign.

CalcioNapoli24 have a report on the 26-year-old, titled ‘The disappointment of the year’.

The outlet makes an observation that having enjoyed a good start to his loan spell at Napoli, Bakayoko was subjected to criticism as the performances of the entire team dropped. He was ‘assigned tasks’ that weren’t ‘suitable for his characteristics’.

Despite this, the report adds there should be ‘very few excuses’ and it won’t be wrong to say the dip in the former AS Monaco man’s form is really down to him.

It’s claimed Chelsea are demanding €20m to sell Bakayoko and under these conditions it’s ‘unthinkable’ Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will buy him.

All of these factors make it difficult for the Italian club to extend his stay after this season.
