Chelsea loaned out Renato Veiga to Juventus in the January transfer window.

While the defender had not been a regular for the Blues in the first half of the season, he is showing his qualities in Italy.

He has started three games for Juventus and also featured in the Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday. He is establishing himself as a regular under Thiago Motta, also winning over many fans.

Juventus currently do not have the option to buy the 21-year-old permanently. But there is now a possibility that both parties can speak about a deal soon.

Tuttomercatoweb have reported today that even if Juve’s priority centre-back signing in the summer is Feyenoord’s David Hancko, the idea of signing Veiga permanently can’t be ruled out.

They note the defender has taken a ‘central role’ in the Bianconeri first-team. This is forcing the Italian giants to consider the Chelsea player’s future more carefully than before.

If things keep going well, Juve’s strategy for the summer transfer window can change.

Towards the end of the season, they can end up holding talks with Chelsea over a permanent deal in what could be an ‘unexpected’ scenario for the Blues.
