Thibaut Courtois is having a good week.
He helped Belgium to victory over England in the World Cup third place play-off, won the Golden Glove, was welcomed back at home as a hero, and spent yesterday zipping around on a Jetski.
Then there’s the claims he could be getting a dream move to Real Madrid.
Courtois didn’t have his best season for Chelsea but his World Cup and the fortune of circumstance sees a move to Madrid closing in.
Not only will he get to play for many people’s biggest club in the world, he’d also be getting his wish of living in the same city as his children.
The goalkeeper is on the front page of Wednesday’s Marca and it’s claimed a move is ‘very advanced’. It’s claimed that ‘if nothing goes wrong’ Courtois will be the next player to arrive at Real Madrid this summer, with Chelsea talks progressing.
Marca also say that Real Madrid aren’t planning any ‘madness’ in the market, and won’t pay €150-200m for Eden Hazard. The Spanish club like the Chelsea player, but it’s insisted they won’t be breaking the bank to sign him.
