In need of reinforcements yet somewhat strapped for cash, Milan brought in four players on loan over the course of the season.

Some were expensive, such as that of Sandro Tonali, while others were a bit cheaper, with Brahim Díaz, Diogo Dalot and eventually Fikayo Tomori in January.

Of all of them, it’s the Chelsea man who has taken to the team the best, with the defender becoming a regular in Stefano Pioli’s team.

That’s why so much has been written about him over the past couple of months, and that’s why he’s the most likely to stay beyond the current campaign.

Gazzetta dello Sport explain the Chelsea defender ‘has become the real untouchable’ from the aforementioned quartet, and that’s ‘precisely for this reason’ that ‘Milan will redeem him from the Blues even if to do so they will have to invest almost €30m’.

There comes a point when a player performs so well that money will magically appear where it’s needed, and it seems Tomori has crossed that line, forcing the Serie A side’s hand.

In fact, the line is a dot to him at this point.
